PORTRAIT BIZARRE
Darkwave-Industrial from Maasmechelen (Belgium)...
Founded in 1982 @ Het Knoupsgaat in Maasmechelen, Portrait Bizarre got their start opening for such acts as Luna Twist, The Scabs, The Neon Judgement, and 2 Belgen,...
Time flew by, and the band soon became a regional icon. In those days, when 'Friends Could Be Friends' was recorded as a selected song for the 'No Big Business 2'-album, produced by Ludo Camberlin (Anything But Records in Heverlee - Belgium), things moved quickly.
Lots of shows followed. A maxi-single, 'Heat Up One Moment' was recorded in the ABR-studio. The B-side: 'The Invitiation' and 'Ballad Of The Grave' also became classics on the dancefloors of the underground-circuit.
But then, numerous lineup changes made the band unstable.
It all end in 1985 or so.
But, in October of 2010 the members of Portrait Bizarre reunited and have been rehearsing since.
28 years later... lots of new songs...
Infact, Portrait Bizarre will present their first physical album ever on the internationally renowed alternative & independent music festival BIMFEST 2011.
